Public Appearance on LBCI about Beirut’s Park

Fadi Shayya is hosted by Marcel Ghanem on LBCI’s Kalam el-Nas TV talk show to discuss his winning paper on innovative good governance in the case of Beirut’s Park, among other winners.

As a special episode dedicated to late MP/Minister/Economist/Academic Dr. Basil Fuleihan, the show will be aired live from LBCI Studios in Adma, Lebanon on Thursday 17 April 2008.

Award for “Invigorating a Park in the City”

Fadi Shayya was awarded 1st Place in the 2008 edition of the Basil Fuleihan Innovative Good Governance Competition (BFIGG) for his paper “Invigorating a Park in the City: Alternatives for the Good Governance of Horsh al-Sanawbar in Beirut.” He received the prestigious award in the name of martyr MP/Minister/Economist/Academic Dr. Basil Fuleihan. more>>>

Award for “Enacting Public Space”

Fadi Shayya was awarded “Best Paper in Architecture & Design” at the 5th Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Student Conference for his paper “Enacting Public Space: History and Social Practices of Beirut’s Horsh al-Sanawbar.” This paper was part of a graduate course/workshop at the Graduate Program of Urban Planning & Policy and Urban Design at the American University of Beirut.

The Student Conference was held at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon between 17 and 18 May 2006. Proceedings were published by the American University of Beirut.
